SHANGHAI (Reuters) – U.S. electrical automobile maker Tesla Inc on Monday stated it had despatched a workforce to analyze a video on Chinese social media which confirmed a parked Tesla car exploding.
The video was extensively shared on China’s Twitter-like Weibo, with the hashtag “Tesla self-ignites” turning into one of the most-read matters on the platform, being considered over 5 million instances.
“After finding out about this incident in Shanghai, we immediately sent a team to the scene. We are currently contacting relevant departments to understand the situation. Based on current information, no one was hurt,” Tesla stated on its official Weibo account.
