JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – The trial for a repeat DUI offender formally began Tuesday after two days of jury choice. Todd Grudznske, 47, is accused of killing Angela Wimmer in 2018 after crashing his automobile in to Wimmer’s stopped automobile.
Grudznske faces a vehicular murder cost, amongst others, for his accused function in Wimmer’s dying at Colfax and Kipling.
Wimmer’s dad and mom, Randy and Linda, flew from Texas to attend the trial.
“We do everything we can to help Angela, to seek justice,” Linda advised CBS4’s Dillon Thomas.
“She would be here for us,” Randy Wimmer stated. “We miss her so much. We missed her at Christmas. I can’t even talk about it.”
Police reviews instructed Grudznske’s blood-alcohol stage was greater than 3 times the authorized restrict after the collision that killed Wimmer.
Grudznske, carrying a blue swimsuit and blue shirt with glasses, regarded on the Wimmer household as they walked within the courtroom. It was the primary time the household noticed the person who’s accused of killing their cherished one.
“I knew it was him. I recognized him from pictures,” Randy stated.
“I didn’t make eye contact with him,” Linda stated.
While the Wimmer household awaits the judicial course of to play out, they hoped their daughter’s reminiscence could be saved alive.
“She was a very prayerful, awesome person,” Linda Wimmer stated. “Very educated young lady. Very sensitive and very kind. She loved to make people happy.”
“(Grudznske) is going to get his day in court, and we will see what happens,” Randy stated.
