North Korea to deport U.S. citizen detained since October: state news agency


SEOUL (Reuters) – North Korea has determined to deport a U.S. citizen detained since October, state news agency KCNA mentioned on Friday.

The American, whom the agency recognized as Bruce Byron Lowrance, “illegally” entered North Korea from China and advised his captors he was “under the control of the CIA”, it mentioned.

A Michigan man of the identical identify was deported from South Korea in November 2017 after being discovered wandering close to the closely fortified border with North Korea, however there was no instant affirmation of his identification.
