MEXICO CITY — Mexico’s health regulatory company says it has cleared about 13,000 requests for permits for medical gadgets and medicines, a few of which had been awaiting approval since 2007.
The company says that since its new group of officials took workplace Dec. three, the company has labored to cut back a mammoth backlog of allow requests. The company stated Monday that the earlier administration left a complete backlog of 22,000 purposes.
Before President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador took workplace Dec.1, investigators uncovered a scheme by which regulators would conceal or fail to ship approvals. The officials reportedly took cash for processing paperwork.
The new group has promised “equal and transparent treatment” for firms that should get approval for brand new medicines or imports of present medicines and medical gadgets.
