Gov. Murphy launches health hotline amid Newark water crisis


NEWARK, N.J. — Newark’s water crisis has prompted questions from residents and officers, alike.

Although New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has refused to declare a state of emergency amid the crisis, residents can now name a 24-hour hotline with questions on the health results of lead publicity or the place decide up water within the metropolis.

A crew of docs, nurses and pharmacists can be found to reply calls, and help shall be out there in 150 languages. Call the hotline at 1-866-448-2432.

The hotline launch comes as sampling confirmed water filters distributed to properties weren’t eradicating lead at its anticipated ranges. Since then, town has been handing out water filters to affected areas.

Over 70,000 water bottles have been distributed to residents within the space.

Newark residents who need their water examined freed from cost can name town at 732-733-6303.
