BEIJING (Reuters) – China is evaluating the potential impact from a U.S. proposal to enhance control over know-how exports, and can take the mandatory steps to uphold Chinese companies’ professional pursuits, a spokesman on the commerce ministry mentioned on Thursday.
On Monday, the U.S. authorities proposed stepping up scrutiny over know-how exports in 14 key high-tech areas together with synthetic intelligence and microprocessor know-how, a transfer that many analysts view as immediately concentrating on China.
A 30-day public session interval on the proposal to embrace these sectors in its broader export control regime is underway and can finish on Dec. 19, in accordance to a doc revealed on the U.S. authorities’s Federal Register on Monday.
