VESTAL (WBNG) — The fourth annual Bandera Family Christmas in July 5k is on Saturday, July 27 on the Vestal Coal House.
The proceeds from the 5k go towards the Bandera household free Christmas dinner, a Southern Tier custom that has been serving free Christmas dinners to the group for 30 years.
The 5k can even have Christmas carolers and do-it-yourself cookies to convey in the Christmas spirit. Organizers say the run provides again to the group when the vacation season rolls round.
“Hoping to raise money for the free Christmas dinner. It’s a lot of work. It’s all year round preparing for it. We’re serving six counties, four thousand people, probably over that this year,” mentioned Andy Mushalla from the Vestal Coal House.
The run can even have a visitor look from Santa Claus. Registration is 25 and features a t-shirt. Registration can be open till the beginning of the race Saturday morning.
